SID Japan Chapter will support student members who present their research at IDW as follows. Support Program for Student Members of SID Japan Chapter to Present their Research Results at IDW

Purpose of the Program | To support the participation of student members who present their results at IDW for the purpose of promoting the sound development of SID Japan Chapter and the activation of SID Japan Chapter’s academic activities. |
Conference name | IDW (International Display Workshops) |
Amount of support | The amount of support shall be about the participation fee for student members at IDW, and the amount for the current fiscal year shall be decided at the Council Committee meeting held in July. |
Students eligible for support | Student members belonging to the SID Japan Chapter who present a research/development report (oral or poster presentation) as a presenting author at the above-mentioned conferences. Membership at the same time as application for support is acceptable. If membership status cannot be confirmed at the time of deliberation, the student will not be eligible. |
Selection of Eligible Students | The following selection committee will select eligible student members. |
Selection Committee | The Selection Committee shall consist of the officers of the Japan Chapter and an appropriate number of regular members appointed by the Chapter Chair, and half of the members must be present to constitute a quorum. The officers of the Chapter shall be the Chapter Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Secretary for General Affairs, and Assistant Secretary for General Affairs. |
Application and Dates | An application form specifying the name of the student who wishes to apply for the program, contact information (address, telephone, whether or not the student has pre-registered his/her IDW), etc., should be submitted to the General Secretary together with a letter of recommendation from the student’s academic advisor, etc. The application form must be submitted within 30 days of the start of the regulated meeting. The deadline for application is 30 days prior to the start of the meeting. |
Payment | The support fee will be paid upon presentation of the student’s ID card or other identification during the relevant conference. No proxy will be accepted for any reason. (Prohibition of proxy acceptance) |
Waiver | Any recipient who does not present a request for receipt during the stipulated meeting period shall be deemed to have waived his or her right to receive the payment. |
Prohibition of Multiple Receipt | Students receiving other support programs are not eligible for this program. |
Publication of Names | The affiliation, name, and title of the results of students who have received this support program will be announced in Chapter publications as appropriate. |
Memorandum of Understanding | If a student who is not the same person who submitted the paper is to make a presentation on behalf of another student, this program will not be applied to the student who makes a presentation on behalf of the student if the student does not provide this information and his/her supervisor’s certification in writing or by e-mail at least one week prior to the meeting. FY2021 The amount of support will be equivalent to the Early Bird Student Registration Fee. The deadline for application is November 1. (The deadline for application is November 1.) |
